My submission for the book project…….
As he walks hunched slightly to the left, he turns his head and with his piercing eyes, he glares. “Yes, Missy, I do believe you are one of the special ones." I shivered and then I noticed his eyes, and the longer we stare, the bluer they became. “Sit,” he says in a stern but soft voice. “Sit and let me tell you the story. You see, Greycie, hundreds of years ago, there were Artists. We knew what colors were, we could see them, feel them and be absorbed with them. We had canvas, wood, paper and cameras to enjoy them with. Most artists were free spirited, but there was one who was jealous, and their eye for color was disappearing. Mr. Harrington squinted his eyes at her and spoke in a whisper, "His name was Jabar. You see, he didn’t want others to feel or see the color, so he cast an evil spell that swept the land. Down into the valleys, across the sea and over the mountaintops, color was gone. It was like the world soaked it all in. I remember the day like it was yesterday. I had taken a picture of some lovely colors and, just like that, the color started draining away from the paper. As I kept adding more, it kept disappearing until it was gone, all gone all across the world."
